Headquartered in Brisbane, Wallace Bishop employs more than 500 staff and operates more than 50 stores throughout Australia.

“I’ve always stuck by the thought that the harder one works, the luckier you become.”

Bishop assumed the role of chairman in 1990 when his son, Stuart Bishop, took on the role of CEO – a position he holds to this day.

"I've always stuck by the thought that the harder one works, the luckier you become,” Bishop told ABC News in 2018.

"That's been my motto. I've always been early to work and late home and enjoyed the company of my very loyal associates and my lovely wife and family."

In 2019 Bishop was inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
