Promising progress for Global Jewellers Network

The recently formed Global Jewellers Network (GJN) has completed a successful in-person meeting in England and outlined plans for future resource sharing.

GJN is a collaboration formed in 2022 between Australia’s Nationwide Jewellers, The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) operating in the UK and Ireland, and the Independent Jewellers Organisation (IJO) based in the US and Canada.

Combined the three groups represent more than 1,500 independent jewellery stores in nine countries.

Nationwide Jewellers managing director Colin Pocklington said meetings with CMJ managing director Emmett Cummins were fruitful.

“After many Zoom meetings over the past two years it was good to be able to meet Emmet and his team face-to-face,” said Pocklington.

“We had a very productive two days. The CMJ is very interested in being able to roll out our Retail Jewellery Business Management Course for their members and Nationwide members will benefit from the great marketing material that the CMJ has developed.”

Attention for the GJN now turns to the International Jewellery Fair in Sydney in August.

IJO president Jeff Roberts is scheduled to bring a group of members to the fair where arrangements will be made for them to purchase from Nationwide’s exhibiting preferred suppliers.

“Jeff and I are looking forward to having an in-person conversation to further explore ways that our three groups can further benefit our respective members under the support of the Global Jewellers Network,” Pocklington explained.

The IJF is scheduled to take place 19-21 August following the successful Australian Jewellery Fair.
