At this year’s International Jewellery Fair (IJF) emerging jewellers from the Design Centre Enmore (TAFE NSW) will demonstrate their skills and passion for the craft, with visitors given the opportunity to witness their creativity and innovation.
The IJF is scheduled to be hosted at ICC Sydney in Darling Harbour, beginning on Saturday 19 August.
Head teacher of jewellery design and manufacture at Design Centre Enmore, Gina Kind, said that the aim of the initiative was to prepare young jewellers for a successful career.
She added: ”We are thrilled to be part of IJF Darling Harbour and to showcase the work of our talented students.
"Our program provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the industry, and we are grateful to Expertise Events for providing this platform for our young jewellers."
Expertise Events recently announced the launch of Jewellers Den, a new project for up-and-coming designers to forge a new career as a jewellery supplier.
Managing director Gary Fitz-Roy told Jeweller, ”The jewellery and watchmaking industry has a rich history and tradition. It's important that we continue to nurture and support the next generation of talent.
"We are proud to partner with the Design Centre Enmore, TAFE NSW, and provide a platform for these young jewellers to showcase their skills and inspire others to consider a career in this exciting industry."
