Danish jewellery brand Ole Lynggaard plans to open a flagship store in Australia following the successful opening of its shop in central Copenhagen.
Ole Lynggaard general manager for Australia and New Zealand Vibeke Mignard said the expansion would be a logical step forward in Australia’s developing market.
“There has been an increase in demand and popularity of the brand’s products here and Australia represents the type of market for a flagship store,” she said.
Ole Lynggaard sales and marketing co-ordinator Susanna Carter added, “Although we are quite new to the market, we have generated huge interested which has assisted us in our goal to hopefully open a [flagship store] in the not too distant future.”
However, the jewellery brand said it was too early to disclose where its first Australian store might be located.
In Copenhagen, the newly unveiled flagship has softly lit rooms, blue velvet lounge furniture and minimalist Japanese inspired décor. Ole Lynggaard head designer Charlotte Lynggaard created the store’s custom-made paintings.
The nature-oriented store also features lush green plants and golden leaves scattered across the interior.
The opening of the Danish flagship store comes two years after the company’s first retail venture, at Copenhagen Airport.
The decision to target Australia is part of Ole Lynggaard’s new focus on offshore markets. A flagship store in Stockholm is also on the cards for the brand.
