Previously known as the September Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair, the 18-24 September trade show will be something of a homecoming, taking place for the first time since 2019.
David Bondi, senior vice president of Informa Markets, said that there will be more than 40 themed pavilions paired with a high-profile events program.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime fair, which is made all the more special following the significant impact that the pandemic has had on our industry,” he said.
“The journey has been far from easy. But despite it all, we’re still here – stronger, tougher, and even more enduring. JGW is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate that resilience and to act with confidence and positivity as we move towards the future.”
The show will open at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) from 18-22 September, while the trading will continue at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 20-24 September.
Bondi added: “As the countdown to JGW continues, we encourage everyone to explore the many ways to participate and make this experience truly unforgettable.”
Extraordinary 40
It’s also an important milestone event for organisers Informa Markets, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the fair and trade publication JNA.
To mark this milestone, Informa Markets’ Jewellery World Awards has launched the ‘Extraordinary 40’ program, acknowledging the impact of those who have had a significant positive influence on international trade.
Director of jewellery fairs, Celine Lau, said that leadership, dedication, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence were the key factors taken into consideration.
“Although our 40 awardees represent only a small fraction of the many incredible trailblazers in our community, we hope this recognition will bring attention to all those who have played a key role in shaping the global jewellery sector,” she said.
Pre-registration for buyers is currently underway. Jewellery and Gem Asia Hong Kong took place for the first time in four years in June.
