The Australian Jewellery Fair (AJF), scheduled for 24-25 March at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, sold out weeks ago.
With nearly 70 individual exhibitors, the 2024 AJF will launch under the theme ‘Beyond the Horizon’.
Fair organiser, Gary Fitz-Roy, explained that the theme “captures the essence of a journey into the future of jewellery, offering attendees an unparalleled opportunity to explore the latest trends, discover unique gemstones, and unveil unseen designs.
“The Australian Jewellery Fair promises to be a hub for industry professionals, buyers, and enthusiasts alike, providing a comprehensive platform to kick start the year with style and substance.”
The Gold Coast will offer retailers and exhibitors food and beverages, with free meals and drinks sponsored by AV Diamonds.
There will also be a chance to network with colleagues at a Sunday night drinks.
“It will be great to be back in Queensland,” Fitz-Roy said, adding, “As one of the most anticipated trade shows of the year, the Australian Jewellery Fair on the Gold Coast will showcase the creativity and innovation of Australia’s leading suppliers, featuring tens of thousands of designs and one of the biggest events to start the year.
“And it’s a sell-out!”
Not everything takes on a serious nature. In fitting with the holiday destination, fair visitors can try their hand at putt-putt golf sponsored by Gerrim. Players have the chance to win prizes.
“We have even created a sun deck with chairs and banana lounges to make you feel totally chilled”, Fitz-Roy said.
The event will host several new suppliers and is timed to coincide with the Mother’s Day buying period.
“It’s an important timing for retailers because Mother’s Day is just a month or so after the AJF, which is an ideal opportunity for retailers to top-up stock and ensure they maximise the next retail promotion in a one-stop-one-shop event.”
Fitz-Roy explained that one of the primary reasons the Gold Coast was chosen was because retailers can combine some serious business with some serious fun.
“Some retailers have told me they need a short holiday, and with airfares back to reasonable costs, it’s quite good value to fly up to Coolangatta for the show and stay a few days longer at Surfer's Paradise for a well-earned break.
“I checked airfares, and you can fly from Sydney to the Gold Coast for under $100."
The AJF comes after a successful Melbourne Jewellery Expo. Following the industry gathering on the Gold Coast, attention will turn to the International Jewellery Fair scheduled for 17-19 August in Sydney.
