Vhernier, founded in 1984 and based in Milan, specialises in bold pieces using unusual gemstone and metal combinations. Following the acquisition, it is Richemont’s 29th brand.
Collections include Calla and Palloncino, sold through brand-only stores in Europe and the US.
Chairman Johann Rupert said the company would be a strong addition to Richemont’s existing brands.
“Vhernier brings a distinguished and distinctive design that beautifully blends modern, sleek and elegant shapes with unconventional materials, magnified by exceptional craftsmanship,” he said.
“This unique aesthetic perfectly complements our existing collection of renowned jewellery maisons.”
Vhernier also operates De Vecchi Milano 1935, an Italian silverware brand. Richemont was founded in 1988 and owns luxury brands such as Buccellati, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, and Van Cleef & Arpels.
