In March, German Cuckoo Clock Nest (GCCN) announced the acquisition of exclusive distribution rights for Pierre Lannier watches in Australia.
The brand was founded in 1977 in France and offers watches in a range of styles, from minimalist designs to eye-catching statement pieces.
Managing director Stefanie Wernekinck said many Australians often have a soft spot for brands with an international reputation and a storied history.
“Their elegant designs, which blend classic and modern styles, are a big hit with Aussies who appreciate sophisticated fashion. The high-quality craftsmanship and use of premium materials also align perfectly with the Australian emphasis on durability and reliability,” she told Jeweller.
“It’s about striking a great balance between luxury and affordability. They offer stylish, well-made watches at accessible prices, which appeals to value-conscious Australians. The brand's versatility in design means there's something for everyone, whether it's a casual day out or a formal event.”
New retailers placing an initial order of 24 watches will receive a complimentary Pierre Lannier watch gift set valued at $339. The set will also include a retail watch display, packaging, free business support, including access to marketing assets, and ongoing after-sales support.
Wernekinck said she was looking forward to the Sydney Fair because of the valuable opportunities in-person networking presents business partnerships.
“One major aim is strengthening our relationships with existing clients and partners. We believe that face-to-face interactions help build trust and foster deeper connections. We are aiming to enhance our brand visibility and reputation in the Australian market,” she said.
“Another ambition is to gather valuable feedback from attendees. Understanding their preferences and needs can guide our product development and marketing strategies."
She added: “We're also keen on exploring potential collaborations and partnerships with other exhibitors and industry professionals at the fair.”
Based in Queensland, GCCN distributes a range of European clock brands to retail partners nationwide through its network. These include Hermle, Engstler, Trenkle, Hekas, Comitti, Kieninger, and AMS.
In May, the company announced it had acquired distribution rights for the luxury clock brand Erwin Sattler.
The International Jewellery Fair will unfold at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour on 17-19 August.
