Three people have been arrested following a heist that led to a chase outside Westfield St Lukes on 7 January.
An eyewitness told the NZ Herald a group of four people stole clothes from a nearby store to cover their faces before entering a Michael Hill location 20 minutes later.
The group was described as three girls and a boy, all estimated to be between the ages of 16 and 18.
Authorities responded to reports around 3.30 pm of two suspects entering a jewellery store and smashing counters with tools before fleeing the scene.
Footage shows a member of the public chasing a vehicle from the rooftop car park to a nearby road, where it swerves to avoid a collision before speeding away.
Police later responded to reports of an abandoned Subaru, within which investigators discovered jewellery and trays. A second car was later stopped by police after driving erratically and three people were arrested.
