Rapidly rising jewellery brand faces legal headache

Within months of opening a wave of stores around Australia, an emerging jewellery brand is facing controversy for the first time.

Harli + Harpa was launched by former Lovisa CEO Shane Fallscheer and in the final weeks of the past year, opened 18 stores. In September, another former Lovisa employee – Cass Fuller – was appointed CEO.

Fuller has previously described Fallscheer as a ‘mentor’; however, that relationship appears to have soured within months of her appointment as CEO.

As reported by The Australian, Fuller is suing Harli + Harpa over claims of lost wages and superannuation after allegedly being dismissed in early December.

The report details court documents revealing Fuller is seeking more than $100,000 in compensation “by reason of the breach of contract.”

“Ms Fuller, who claimed she was to be paid $500,000 for the year to October 2025, alleged the company could terminate her employment without notice, but only in certain circumstances — for example, if she committed an act of fraud or misconduct,” reports Angelica Snowden.

“Otherwise, she alleged the company had to give three weeks written notice. Ms Fuller’s legal team Maurice Blackburn Lawyers declined to comment, as did MrFallscheer. It remains unclear what led to the split.”

The case is listed for directions in February in the Federal Circuit Court.
