Hosted by Expertise Events at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1 February (Saturday) to 3 February (Monday), the fair is run in conjunction with the Gift & Lifestyle Fair.
Jennie Kelly, founder of retail consultants A Creative Space, will host free store design and merchandising workshops. At the same time, Tricia Ong from Mintrix Business Advisory will lead sessions addressing critical areas of business management.
Finally, Avanthi De Alwis, the principal solicitor at HDH Legal, will discuss the legal requirements for Australian businesses with visitors. Further details, including the schedule of these sessions, are available here.
Expertise Events general manager Zac Fitz-Roy said these presentations would offer visitors valuable insight into modern retail.
"At our fairs, there's always bonuses available, and this year, we've got some industry experts hosting several sessions that will address several very important topics," he told Jeweller.
"For retailers, there are presentations on inventory management, visual merchandising, retail displays, and for businesses more broadly, sessions addressing legal requirements of the trade.
"The sessions will include some really helpful insights into commercial and retail requirements and cover broad bases to ensure that everything is in order and as it should be for their businesses.”
The Melbourne Jewellery Expo will feature a broad range of products, including pearl jewellery from suppliers such as Sydney Pearls and Eastern Pearl and colour gemstone pieces from suppliers such as Kaiserman Jewellery and Vanessa Australia.
There will be a broad range of silver pieces, including Bella Donna Silver, Stones & Silver, and TJD Silver. A complete list of exhibitors can be found here.
Jewellery industry buying groups Nationwide Jewellers and Independent Jewellers Collective will also attend the show, combining to represent more than 370 members and 440 stores in Australia.
Following the Melbourne Jewellery Expo, the Australian Jewellery Fair will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 6-7 April.
