Sterling silver jewellery manufacturer Joy Jewellery has launched a charity charm bracelet in support of impoverished women in Indonesia who have cervical and ovarian cancer.
The charity charm bracelet features wooden beads, a pearl and a sterling silver heart. It was made in Indonesia.
The manufacturer will be working with a foundation in Indonesia that sets up clinics throughout remote villages and offers local women medical care that they cannot afford, such as pap tests.
The brand has an established affiliation with Indonesia because its designer, Eugenie de Blecourt, is based in Seminyak, Bali.
Joy Jewellery’s Australasian distributor Rebecca Martin said, “Eugenie has been living in Indonesia since 1995 and she works closely with a silversmith there. She wanted to support the underprivileged, local people and this was one way to do it.”
All the profits from the charm bracelet sales will go to the cause. Martin said she would consider donating some of the proceeds to the Australian Ovarian Cancer Institute as well.
The bracelet will be available to retailers in a few weeks, and Martin said the initial response from stockists looked promising.
Joy Jewellery is distributed in Australia, Sweden, Holland, Singapore, Japan and Bali. Designer Blecourt established the brand in 1996, working from her base in Bali.
