Having established itself in the local market, urban jewellery supplier Tuskc is looking to expand its brand across the Tasman.
“There has been considerable interest in the brand from New Zealand retailers, and we are both keen and equipped to explore this market in 2011,” Tuskc operations director Helen Hagerty said.
Expansion in New Zealand is also on the horizon for New South Wales supplier Ikecho Pearls, which already has a small customer base in the country.“My objective for mid-2011 is to concentrate on promoting Ikecho throughout New Zealand and acquiring stockists there,” Ikecho Pearls founder Erica Madsen told Jeweller.
Madsen also has plans to expand into the US and Europe in 2012. “I think it would be great to make Australia’s natural gifts available in Europe and the US,” she revealed.
“Our South Sea pearls that are produced along the North West coast of Australia have such a magnificent lustre and overall superiority,” she said.
Ikecho’s plans for expansion coincide with the launch of a new South Sea pearl jewellery range in 9-carat gold. “Our new range will showcase our stunning Tahitian and Broome South Sea pearls set in the more reasonably priced 9-carat gold,” Madsen said.
Madsen hoped the move would make her South Sea pearl range – previously only produced in 18ct gold – more accessible as she sets her sights on broadening the business.
