It will be Showcase’s third collaboration with Talcott, who will kick-start the tour at a Showcase conference in Auckland on August 6 and end across the Tasman in Sydney at Showcase’s annual general meeting, set to commemorate the buying group’s 30th anniversary on August 26.
The first and last seminars will be targeted towards storeowners. In between that time Talcott will embark on a road show, designed for sales staff, that will take her from Christchurch, Townsville, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour and Sydney to Bendigo, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and other key regional centres. There will be 13 training seminars in total and the tour is intended to focus on selling techniques.
Showcase Jewellers chief executive Mike Mishevski said Talcott’s road show was part of a broader strategy to increase his members’ awareness of diamonds. “Diamonds are a key area that we are focusing on. These diamond training seminars are just one of our many efforts to improve diamond business for our members,” he said.
Showcase organised the Janice Mack Talcott tour through the Retail Edge Academy, for which Talcott is a consultant.
