In addition, the company has created a software program, called LeverEDGE, for retailers that are not customers of Retail Edge. LeverEDGE can read stock information from existing systems and then enable the data to be uploaded onto JewelLover.
“The program will be compatible with most existing jewellery POS software systems in Australia,” Retail Edge Consultants managing director, Gordon Mclister said.
“It will enable retailers to identify product that is old, then upload it to the JewelLover website where it can be sold,” Mclister added.
The JewelLover website has been developed by jewellery marketing specialists Jewellery Marketing Solutions, and is due for launch in August, with over 60 stores already joining the service.
It provides jewellers with an online portal to clear their old stock, with all product listed on JewelLover starting at normal retail price, then steadily reducing on a time clock until it reaches its reserve or gets sold.
“Online retail is growing at a rapid rate, particularly the viral nature of social media. The JewelLover website provides not only a unique means of clearing old stock, which could become quite addictive for consumers, but it offers retail jewellers a large scale website presence that they wouldn’t be able to develop on their own”
The program is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Retail Edge Consultants website, or accessed via the JewelLover website.
