STAT Australia has secured exclusive distribution rights for American brand, Glam Rock watches.
Three ranges of the Miami-based Glam Rock products are set to be released nationwide with STAT Australia gearing up to launch the Miami, SoBe and AquaRock collections.
Stefan Thomaschuetz, managing director of STAT said the Australian watch market is ripe for the brand.
“With high-end materials, fashionable and changeable styles as well as the competitive price point, we’re already receiving a huge amount of interest,” Thomaschuetz said.
Glam Rock’s new ranges feature its patented ‘Just Click’ technology, which allows the wearer to change the case cover on the watch to their liking.
“There is nothing in the market quite like it, where you can make style changes in seconds, so we’re really excited about the opportunities Australia presents,” Thomaschuetz explained.
Thomaschuetz added that the timepieces are tailored to appeal to medium to high-end stores that already carry other Swiss-made watches.
“I first noticed this brand at the Basel fair this year and it really stood out to me as it’s only six years old with over 7,000 stockists around the world,” Thomaschuetz said.
The brand has been popularised by a number of celebrities in the US, which proved to be a motivating factor in Thomaschuetz acquiring the account.
“They are really popular in the US, with people like Kim Kardashian and Nicole Scherzinger involved in Glam Rock campaigns, so we feel we can tailor this brand to the 25-40 year old female high-end watch wearer,” Thomaschuetz noted.
Last week STAT Australia launched the watches to the media at Sydney’s Hilton, receiving positive feedback about the range’s potential in the Australian market.
The company is currently planning a marketing and public relations campaign to introduce the products to consumers upon their release.
“The response so far has been great and we are in the process of confirming agreements with several stockists,” Thomaschuetz said.
Glam Rock’s new ranges will be released nationwide on October 1.
