A thief has robbed a Brisbane-based jeweller with a stun gun, according to police.
A thief with a taser attacked a female staff member as the criminal escaped the scene of a Queensland robbery.
Adam Watson Thorpy allegedly entered a Wallace Bishop store in Mitchelton on October 16 and produced a conductive electronic device (CED), said police in a statement.
Thorpy is facing six charges, including one count each of robbery with actual violence, dangerous conduct with a weapon and serious assault.
“The man allegedly threatened staff then stole jewellery,” the statement said. “On the way out of the store he used the CED on one of the staff members.”
The female staff member who was targeted by the thief was treated at the scene after sustaining minor injury to her arm.
Thorpy faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 18 where he was refused bail and remanded in custody.
The matter has been adjourned until November 14.
