The New Zealand-based Kagi Jewellery has been selected in Deloitte’s Fast 50 Awards.
Kagi Jewellery finished in 40th place in New Zealand’s Deloitte awards, an initiative that operates in over 32 countries and is claimed to be a barometer for successful and innovative businesses in the region.
The Fast 50 has been running in New Zealand since 2001 and entries to the index are compiled through a combination of Deloitte research, public nominations, and businesses wanting to be benchmarked. Businesses that choose to enter and meet the entry criteria are then ranked according to their percentage revenue growth.
Notably, Kagi was the only fashion-based business in this year’s list and was also the only company to gain a level of ‘Highly Commended’ for the Australasia region.
Kat Gee, owner of Kagi was enthusiastic after being named among the top 50, saying that the recognition is well-deserved after a difficult year.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have Kagi recognised as one of New Zealand’s top growing businesses,” Gee said. “To be the only fashion or jewellery brand highlights the success of our business formula.”
The recognition from Deloitte comes after Gee was awarded The NZ Business Icehouse Owner Manager Scholarship in September this year, which provides the winning recipient with skills to help them through turbulent periods.
In addition, she was commended at this month’s International Pearl Design Awards.
Gee is quick to acknowledge her staff, saying that her team are close-knit and a significant factor in Kagi securing these accolades.
“We have got the recipe right,” Gee said. “It’s a credit to them who have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the company.”
After five years in business and over 70 stockists throughout New Zealand, Kagi launched its ranges locally at the recent Sydney International Jewellery Fair.
