Approximately 200 people previewed the spring/summer 2015 sterling silver collection during an event held at the iconic London hotel, Claridge’s.
Highlights from the new season offering were said to include Orient-inspired designs in the Glam & Soul range; colourful, maritime-themed statement pieces in the Karma Beads collection; and falcon motifs and masculine bead bracelets from the Rebel at Heart men’s line. Watch designs also complemented the new season jewellery pieces.
In addition to celebrities and retailers, media representatives from 15 countries – including Australia – attended the function. Phil Edwards, managing director of local distributor Duraflex Group Australia, which had a representative at the London event, described the new ranges as “a mix of femininely playful and minimalist, and inspired by the Far East”.
“We anticipate the collection will do very well in the local market,” he said. “Each range in the new Thomas Sabo Glam & Soul and Rebel at Heart collections are characterised by a highly-individual style.”
As previously reported by Jeweller, Thomas Sabo holds a coordinated global-wide launch for most new season collections, whereby designs are showcased in each operating region – Australia included – at the same time.
Edwards explained, however, that introducing the annual spring/summer collection in London had developed into something of a tradition, with media and celebrities having gathered in the fashion capital to preview the new range for the past few years.
The presentation of the 2015 collection was also scheduled to coincide with the opening of a Thomas Sabo brand-only store in South Molton Street, London, which was celebrated later that evening.
The store launch was attended by company founder Thomas Sabo, creative director Susanne Kölbli and brand ambassadors, Formula One driver Nico Rosberg and model Georgia May Jagger.
The Thomas Sabo spring/summer 2015 collection will be presented to Australian and New Zealand retailers in February next year.
Thomas Sabo was founded in Germany in 1984. It currently operates approximately 250 brand-only stores across five continents and has approximately 2,600 global retail partners – about 300 of which are located in Australia.
