Pandora jewellery renews oldest store

Pandora Australia’s pioneer brand-only store has been refurbished with a fresh look almost a decade after its doors opened.

The official re-opening of the retail space, which is located in the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) in Sydney, will take place today, Tuesday 7 July. The move is said to be of significant importance given it was the first ‘concept’ store the company launched in the country, opening in September 2007, some three years after the Danish brand was introduced to the Australian market.

Pandora Australia president David Allen explained that at the time, the store was “half the size of what it is today”. By May 2008, the outlet had expanded to encompass the neighbouring retail space, and Allen stated that since then, the QVB store had “thrived”.

“[After] so many years, it is with great excitement that we are re-opening it as an Evolution store,” he said.

The ‘Evolution’ concept refers to a new retail fit-out design that Pandora has been rolling out across brand-only stores worldwide with the aim of improving the customer retail experience.

“The new store design is part of Pandora’s commitment to help customers find jewellery that expresses their personal style, or to select a special gift for any occasion,” Allen explained.

Key aspects of the concept include separate selling ‘stations’ that allow customers to stand side-by-side with sales staff rather than facing them over a traditional counter, as well as wall-mounted jewellery display cabinets that aim to convey “a personal wall of memories and unforgettable moments”.

More than 10 Pandora outlets have opened or been refurbished under the Evolution design in Australia, with the QVB store being the latest to undergo the transformation.

Various initiatives will be held as part of the re-opening, including the launch of the Dreamy Escape collection and a limited time gift-with-purchase cons
