Cudworth director Darren Roberts said the Hugo Boss collection of writing instruments would be introduced to the local market at the upcoming International Jewellery Fair (IJF). The range was launched internationally earlier this year.
“Hugo Boss has a strong brand awareness and following in the [local] marketplace that is appealing,” Roberts said of why the offering would be popular amongst consumers. “We’re honoured to be introducing such an iconic range of writing instruments and accessories to Australia.”
The collection includes 14 pen designs as well as matching accessories – such as leather journals and key rings – with each product presented in a polished display box.
Roberts believed the giftware would complement retailers’ existing jewellery lines, and that the point of sale display material provided, paired with the fact that Hugo Boss was a well-known brand, would “definitely be a drawcard” for jewellers hoping to increase foot traffic.
“Business has been tough for some jewellery retailers but if they think outside the square they may find that increasing their product selection in-store will help to increase sales,” he stated.
Cudworth will be distributing the range in Australia and New Zealand on behalf of Distri-Brands, the worldwide licence rights holder of Hugo Boss’ writing instruments and accessories range.
Although the collection will be officially introduced at the IJF – held in Sydney from 29 to 31 August – a soft launch will take place in August prior to the trade show.
