Under the new agreement, jewellery collections from Sydney-based Disney Couture will now be available through the e-commerce website for UK jewellery retail chain Boutique.Goldsmiths.
Boutique.Goldsmiths has been described as the more trend-focused ‘sister’ business to well-established UK retail chain Goldsmiths Jewellers.
“We were approached by Boutique.Goldsmiths as they were looking for exciting new jewellery brands to add to their existing offering,” Disney Couture UK director Tom Coulter explained.
“Disney Couture focuses on creating premium fashion jewellery that is appealing to Boutique.Goldsmith’s target market of younger and fashion-inspired customers.”
Disney Couture managing director Michael Tran added, “With Goldsmiths being one the most notable jewellery outlets in the UK, it is a great testament to our brand to be included amongst such an amazing list of brands available via Boutique.Goldsmiths.”
Some other brands stocked by Boutique.Goldsmiths include Thomas Sabo, Chrysalis and Marc By Marc Jacobs.
In addition to its e-commerce website, the jewellery retail chain has seven physical stores across the UK, although at the current time Disney Couture will only be sold online.
Global expansion
Tran said that since appointing a UK distributor in late 2013, Disney Couture had experienced significant development in the region. “This seems to be only growing momentum, which is really positive,” he commented.
According to Coulter, the number of stockists across the UK and Europe has doubled to more than 50 in the last 12 months.
“The UK team have been really focused on growing the reach throughout the [region] and their efforts are really paying off, so the expansion is evident,” Tran stated. “This, combined with some fantastic collection releases and our global plans, [means] it is a great time for our UK team to pursue their space in the market.”
Tran confirmed that plans to expand into other international markets were in progress but declined to comment further, saying that more details would be revealed in the coming weeks.
Disney Couture was founded in 2012 and specialises in Disney-licensed jewellery incorporating iconic characters such as Cinderella, Tinker Bell, Bambi and Alice in Wonderland. The supplier has more than 320 retail stockists across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Product is also shipped worldwide via its online store.
