Karin Adcock, the former Pandora Australia and New Zealand president and current House of Brands CEO, which introduced US jewellery range Alex and Ani to the local market, was the subject of a feature article in the July issue of Wish magazine. The glossy publication is distributed with The Australian newspaper once a month.
The article delved into Pandora’s decision in December 2015 to prevent its stockists from carrying Alex and Ani product in their stores. Mainstream media including The Sydney Morning Herald as well as a number of Danish publications picked up the story. As previously reported by Jeweller, the ACCC concluded that Pandora’s actions would not substantially lessen competition.
The article referred to the current situation in Australia as a “maelstrom” and the author also contemplated Adcock’s ambitions to replicate her success in helping to transform Pandora from a little known Danish business into a global powerhouse.
