Tips for navigating today’s branded jewellery market

Although the stream of jewellery brands entering the local market is relentless and often overwhelming, there are strategies to help ensure retailers successfully ride the brand wave.

The industry has leveraged the opportunities of branded ranges for years; however, the category does not come without challenges, all of which are now enhanced in the current conditions of tough trading.

The July issue of Jeweller – out now – investigates how jewellers can best navigate this crowded sector.

While products are important in the branding arena, an article by Peter Ryan warns retailers of the dangers that can occur when businesses are unable to identifying their ‘souls’.

Children’s jewellery has always had a tiptoe in the market but the category has well and truly evolved. Jeweller’s latest issue details the sales opportunities afforded by young fashionistas.

No one wants to deal with an angry customer but what if there was a way to win big when consumers were furious?

July Jeweller also includes the recently-introduced column ’10 years ago’. As the name suggests, it provides a snapshot of the major news stories published in the same month one decade earlier. This month’s review is particularly interesting given 10 years ago marked Jeweller’s first State of the Industry report.

There’s a whole lot more in Australia and New Zealand’s #1 jewellery industry magazine, including plenty of useful advice that could help to improve sales and profitability. See below for more details.
