Effective 2018, local supplier Timesupply will distribute international jewellery range Nomination Italy

Timesupply secures Nomination jewellery distribution

Local supplier Timesupply has expanded its portfolio, having acquired the distribution rights to Italian jewellery range Nomination Italy.

Timesupply managing director Ken Abbott said the deal was finalised in Florence last month and would be effective 1 January 2018.

Nomination – which is known for its Composable interchangeable bracelet collection – was until now distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Scancella Group, headed by Marco Bracci.

Abbott said Timesupply would continue to manage the brand’s existing 55 stockists and that Bracci would join the supplier’s team.

He explained there were many reasons for adding Nomination to his jewellery stable that also includes European ranges Coeur de Lion, Dansk Smykkekunst and Qudo.

“The success of Nomination, especially in the UK, which is a similar market to Australia and New Zealand, was one motivation,” Abbott said.

“The Italian style of the jewellery and the fact that the pieces are made in Italy, the amazing people and support within the Nomination family and company as well as the consumer demand for customisable jewellery were also important factors,” he added.

Embracing its roots

Abbott said local retailers could expect a renewed focus on the brand’s signature Composable link bracelet collection. The stainless steel modular bracelet, launched in 1987, is made of interchangeable links featuring 18-carat gold, sterling silver, cubic zirconia, gemstones and diamond accents.

“We will focus our efforts on the brand’s DNA product due to its outstanding success in Europe, the UK, South Africa and the US. The Composable collection is also selling very well with existing stockists in Australia,” he explained.

Nomination Italy CEO Antonio Gensini told Jeweller that the new agreement was central to the brand’s expansion strategy in Australia and New Zealand.

“The goal with the Timesupply collaboration is to increase the business in both Australia and New Zealand and to become more immersed in the territory,” Gensini explained.

“We want to reach new areas where the Nomination brand is still not well known, while maintaining the good relationships that the previous distribution business had built with the customers.”

Nomination was founded by Paolo Gensini and is currently sold in more than 5,000 independent retail stores, five company-owned stores and 88 brand-only franchised stores located across more than 40 countries.

In addition to the Composable collection, Nomination specialises in a range of other women’s and men’s jewellery.
