Favourite gemstone:Impossible to decide! Favourite metal:18-carat yellow gold, as I love the warmth and richness of the colour. Favourite tool:Blow torch. The heat control and and what you can achieve with it is something that constantly amazes me. Best part of job:Knowing that you played a small part in some of the happiest days of a person’s life. Worst part of job:Cleaning customer’s jewellery that’s never been taken off. Best tip from a jeweller:Perfect each component before moving on to the next because accuracy is everything! Best tip to a jeweller:If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life...my tip is to aim for this. Biggest health concern on the bench:Dust – breathing abrasives like emery and polish can’t be great for the lungs. Love jewellery because: It’s wearable art! I love being part of something that will be loved by generations to come. My bench is always: Immaculately organised, because work benches are claustrophobic enough without any extra clutter. |
