The third edition of the Bharat Diamond Week (BDW) trade show is set to take place at the Bharat Diamond Bourse from 14 to 16 October, featuring 150 Indian exhibitors.
More than 1,000 international visitors are expected to attend, including Israel, Dubai, Europe, the US and Australia.
The guest of honour will be Lin Qiang, president of the Shanghai Diamond Exchange.
Meanwhile, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s (GJEPC) India Diamond Week Buyer-Seller Meet will host invited and pre-registered buyers from selected markets from 15 to 17 October.
The Meet has similar goals to the BDW, particularly focusing on strengthening trade ties between India’s finished jewellery and cut and polished diamond industries and overseas buyers.
In a statement, Bharat Diamond Bourse president Anoop Mehta said, “The Bharat Diamond Bourse and the GJEPC are the two largest and most important organisations representing our trade in India and promoting it abroad.
“I am very happy that these two events will be taking place during the same week as it helps us create a critical mass of attendees. We welcome all visitors and buyers to the Bharat Diamond Bourse.”
Mehul Shah, vice-president Bharat Diamond Bourse, added, “It is critical for the Indian diamond industry that we have these two special events taking place. The fact that they are taking place at more or less the same time creates a great deal of excitement and many business opportunities.”
Registration for BDW is now open and the Bourse is offering 150 complimentary hotel rooms for foreign buyers. To register visit bharatdiamondweek.com
