Frédérique Constant was previously distributed by the now-defunct Lion Brands, which closed suddenly in February.
Citizen acquired Frédérique Constant in 2016 and the new arrangement will see the Swiss brand benefit from Citizen’s Australian sales distribution, marketing and operational infrastructure.
Shiori Takahashi, CEO Citizen Watches Australia, said in a statement, “We are proud to be associated with Frédérique Constant and represent across Australia. The timing could not have been more apt, especially with the growth of the brand in Australia in recent years.
“There is an opportunity to develop a stronger retail network to service existing and potential Frederique Constant customers.”
Frédérique Constant was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1988 aiming to create high quality, luxury Swiss watches at an accessible price point. Every stage of its production is conducted in-house at its new Swiss facility, which opened in June this year. The company produces mechanical, smartwatch and hybrid models.
Sebastien Cretegny, vice-president of sales Frederique Constant, said, “We are excited to further develop and leverage synergies with Citizen to address the retail network more efficiently and create value for each stakeholder.
“We are confident that this new association will significantly contribute to our ambitions and will provide Frédérique Constant customers with the service they rightly expect.”
All About Time in Perth remains the only authorised service centre for Frédérique Constant in Australia, while Pilbrows Watchmaker in Taupo is the sole service centre in New Zealand.
