Police have alleged that the pair, alongside a third man who has not been apprehended, used a stolen car to crash through the doors of the Orion Springfield Central shopping centre shortly before 1am on Sunday 3 November.
Armed with crowbars and a knife, they proceeded to smash the doors, windows and display cabinets of a jewellery store within the centre.
A cleaner and three nearby shopfitters interrupted the attempted burglary; two of them sustained stab wounds as the offenders struggled to flee the scene.
Police arrested two of the suspects inside the shopping centre and located a quantity of jewellery within the stolen vehicle as well as scattered on the floor of the shopping centre.
The 18-year-old man faced Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday 4 November. His case was adjourned and he remains in custody, having not applied for bail.
Investigations continue.
