Police allege the man is responsible for nine burglaries committed between 20 May and 25 December 2019, in which he broke into shopping centres in Baulkham Hills, North Rocks, and Winston Hills at night by cutting holes in the roof.
He is alleged to have stolen jewellery valued at $750,000, as well as cash, from stores inside the centres.
The man is also suspected to have attempted to break into a North Rocks shopping centre in the early hours of 6 January 2020, using the same rooftop method.
Jeweller previously reported on the Mission: Impossible-style heist at Alexander Jewellers in North Rocks on 4 August last year, in which jewellery pieces valued at $300,000 were stolen.
The suspect was arrested at 6.30am on Wednesday 8 January at a residential address in Baulkham Hills. He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court later that day.
During the course of the raid, officers seized earrings, watches, necklaces, and bracelets, believed to be stolen.
The arrest was the culmination of investigations by Strike Force Kokanee, established by NSW State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad.
