Manufactured in Germany, The Lux Collection is crafted with gold, diamonds, colour gemstones, and pearls, with each piece made-to-order and an emphasis on environmental sustainability.
Chris Scanlan, director RJ Scanlan & Co., told Jeweller, “RJ Scanlan & Co. has distributed this line of jewellery on a small scale for 20 years, and when the manufacturer wanted a distributor to present the entire collection, we accepted.
“Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the Australian jewellery market has been deprived of opportunities to see international collections of this quality.”
RJ Scanlan & Co. quietly introduced The Lux Collection to a limited number of retailers in late 2020, with Scanlan noting that the range had seen a very positive response so far.
“The Lux Collection is very diverse – this season’s range has 750 pieces with a wide range of price points – so the target market covers all budgets with an emphasis on European style and quality,” he explained.
He added that the manufacturer has been operating for more than 70 years and is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, a standards and certification body based in the UK that audits members against a Code of Practices for business ethics and responsible supply chains.
“We are seeing a shift in consumer buying habits – people are turning away from mass-produced products and want to know where their products are being made, and the origins of the materials. Sustainability and responsibility are becoming requirements,” Scanlan said.
