A jewellery spectacular: Met Gala 2021

Known as fashion's 'night of nights', the annual Met Gala – held at New York City's historic Metropolitan Museum of Art – is an opportunity for designers and jewellers alike to display their boldest and most creative pieces on the red carpet.
This year's event – delayed from its usual May date to September as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic – did not disappoint, with music, film, and fashion's stars illuminated with glittering jewellery. Warm-toned gemstones, including citrine, rubies, and garnet, were on display, as were heavy chandelier earrings. And with the freedom to take risks, fashion-forward men's jewellery stole some of the spotlight, with statement necklaces on show.
