World-first Australian rough sapphires auction a “big success”

Sapphire can be found in several Australian east coast localities from north Queensland to north-east Tasmania. One of the largest and most economic deposits are found in Central Queensland; Anakie-Sapphire Fields in Queensland lies between Sapphire Township and Rubyvale.
