Based in the iconic Manchester Unity Building on Melbourne’s Collins Street, Athan Wholesale Jewellers was founded by Arthur Papagrigoriou in 1998 to supply Australian jewellery retailers with the highest quality gold chains from leading Italian manufacturers.
It was the continuation of a rich history in the jewellery industry; Arthur’s parents, Irene and Gregory, opened one of the first modern jewellery stores on Smith Street in Collingwood, as well as Gregory’s Jewellers on Chapel Street, Prahran.
From this heritage, Athan draws on a deep understanding of the jewellery industry and upholds an exceptional standard of service. Over the past 25 years, its customer portfolio has grown to encompass retailers of all sizes, from the most established high-end brands to independent newcomers.
Today, Athan Wholesale Jewellers continues to specialise in exceptional Italian gold chains, with a focus on 9- and 18-carat yellow, white and rose gold Trace, Wheat, Curb, Franco and Omega designs. It also supplies tennis mounts, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, religious pendants and charms, all made in Italy.
