Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 to push through with hybrid events

It’s all systems go for the much-anticipated Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 on 30 March to 5 April at Palexpo Geneva with 38 fashion and luxury brands participating, according to the show’s organisers.

Organisers claim the show became the ‘go-to exhibition’ for watch brands following the absence of Baselword in the past years, and it will follow a hybrid program of on-site and virtual events to cater to a broader international audience and in compliance with COVID-related travel restrictions and measures.

The week-long program was redesigned to provide more focus on product exhibits - both in-person and online. All online content will be available anytime on-demand.

To avoid large group gatherings such as press conferences, organisers have replaced it with ‘touch and feel’ product presentations with no more than ten people physically allowed per session.

The venue will be provided with two fully-equipped broadcasting studios for digital product presentations so journalists would be updated remotely with news and events throughout the exhibit.

Users will be able to live stream product launch presentations through the Watches & Wonders website with brand executives and ambassadors showcasing new models and collections.

In addition to product presentations, users can also view discussions and analysis from watch experts, eco-responsibility in watch production, in-depth explorations of design and technical watch innovations, and learn about brands.

Another highlight will be the ‘Time Design’ exhibition, which will demonstrate the history and evolution of wristwatch design.

Organised by Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, Watches & Wonders Geneva was previously known as the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. It underwent a rebranding in October 2019 and announced a shift to include more consumer-focused activities before organisers cancelled the 2021 show due to the coronavirus pandemic.
