New jewellery ranges at Sydney Fair

Jeweller continues its parade of suppliers exhibiting in Sydney for the first time, and finds that the new breed is full of hope, and not just for signing up new accounts.
Several suppliers debuting at the fair have spoken of their strong ideological foundations behind their brand and how they want to affect consumers.

Daniel Bentley Fine Jewellery
Daniel Bentley Fine Jewellery plans to use its all-inclusive philosophy as a point of difference at the fair.

“What truly sets our jewellery apart is not just our distinctive designs, it’s our philosophy and ideals,” Bentley said. “We believe in inspiring our clients rather than following trends.”

“We’re very excited to be showing at the fair this year and I think we’re going to surprise a lot of people,” he added. Daniel Bentley will debut the Utopia Ring collection at the fair, a series of rings designed for people with large knuckles and hard-to-fit fingers, which he believes is a world-first product.

The rings use Bentley’s ‘SwingRing’ system, which allows them to be opened and closed around the wearer’s finger with a click, giving them a perfect fit. Bentley originally developed the ‘SwingRing’ design to allow his mother-in-law, who suffered from arthritis and couldn’t wear rings, to be able to wear his pieces.

Blessing Tree
Blessing Tree will be debuting its sterling silver jewellery with engraved inspirational messages, which can be used as motivations to get through personal hardship.

Designer and founder Roslyna Reifler has even developed a partnership with the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA) to ensure the brand practices what it preaches, with sales of Blessing Tree’s ‘Circles of Life’ collection helping raise funds for children’s cancer research.

“Blessing Tree was selected as one of only two partnerships formed recently because CCIA believe in our cause and vision for helping people,” Reifler said. “We share in the institute’s vision for a world free of childhood cancer and support their work in easing suffering and finding a cure.”

Innerpower
Innerpower is another supplier hoping to inspire Australians with its jewellery and watches.

Innerpower general manager Sonia Merlino told Jeweller that the brand had “spiritual undertones”. She also said the collections were inspired by “nature and the urban surrounds of the Isle of Bali coupled with the design principles and quality of exceptional Dutch designs”, and were motivational.

“We believe that jewellery becomes a part of its wearer and that’s why we call our collections feel-good jewels,” Merlino said. “Our pieces inspire you, light you up and make you feel good.”

Glass of Fire
Christine Stewart has been working with glass for more than two decades on the North Coast of New South Wales. Stewart is exhibiting her jewellery line, Glass of Fire, for the first time. It features dazzling, colourful pendants inspired by the Australian environment.

EL Handmade Greek Jewellery

Based on handmade original and rare copies of Ancient Greek coins, this new supplier will offer a slew of rings, ear rings, pendants and cuff links set in sterling silver with yellow and rose gold.

Jeweller’s coverage of the Sydney International Jewellery Fair continues next week with a look at what some veteran fair exhibitors have in store for visitors.
