The new ‘deafinite style’ design, which was created by Designaffairs Studio, places a sound amplification device inside a large earring-style device, which would require an initial ear piercing and wearing several different sized rings to stretch the ear to accommodate it. The earring is wired to a small plug that sits inside the ear permanently. A release by the studio explains the motivation for the product, which is just one of many new stylish incarnations of the hearing aid: “Rising self-confidence is taking prostheses to another level. People don’t try to hide their handicap anymore. Show what you‘ve got, don’t make a fuss about your problem. Wear your hearing aid like a piece of jewellery, a stylish accessory. Be individual, be cool, be yourself.”
The ‘deafinite style’ hearing aid is also available in several colours and textures.
