As a brand ambassador for the company, Rosberg was guest of honour at a cocktail party on Wednesday 13 March held atop the iconic GPO building in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. Many items from the Rebel at Heart collection were on display.
Rosberg has been sponsored by Thomas Sabo since March 2010.
Although retiring early from the race on Sunday due to gearbox problems, Rosberg had equipped himself well in the wet weather on Saturday in his Mercedes AMG Petronas and was the fastest driver in the first and only qualifying session of the day.
Company founder Thomas Sabo, a motor racing enthusiast, described Rosberg as a perfect ambassador for the brand: “Nico is young, dynamic and also a true rebel behind the steering wheel. He therefore perfectly reflects the ‘drive’ of our brand.”
The Thomas Sabo logo features prominently on Rosberg’s racing overalls, as well as his cap and racing helmet.
Locally, Thomas Sabo is distributed through Duraflex Group Australia.
