HKTDC is offering visitors a chance to attend the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show
HKTDC is offering visitors a chance to attend the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show

Win a trip to Hong Kong at Sydney jewellery fair

Apart from witnessing first-hand the latest jewellery trends, new products, exclusive deals and industry information, visitors to the Sydney International Jewellery Fair also have the opportunity to win great prizes.
Many of this year’s 215+ exhibitors are offering visitors the chance to take home something extra – often for just dropping by their stands – including a trip to the 2014 Hong Kong International Jewellery Show.

Here is a selection of companies that have confirmed to Jeweller that they are running promotions during the three-day event. A full list of the Spotlight education seminars occurring at the show is also listed below.

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is conducting a special lucky draw promotion during the fair. Visit the stand and drop a business card into the bowl for a chance to win a trip to the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show 2014. The prize includes a round-trip economy-class flight to Hong Kong and three-night hotel accommodation.

Chemgold has a “Guess the number of granules” competition at its stand. The winner receives three months’ of free casts.

Making its maiden outing at any Australasian jewellery fair is Agatha Paris. With more than 400 boutiques and retailers worldwide, the French brand will hold a business card draw each day where attendees can win an Agatha Paris jewellery package and display unit. A special fair discount will also be on offer on package and display units for those who miss out on the prize draw.

Peekays Findings is conducting a daily draw (3pm) where visitors to its stand who have registered their details can win a mini iPad (three to be given away).

A daily draw at Kenneth Ayres’ stand will give attendees the chance to pocket $1,000 of Ayres packaging or display products, in recognition of the business’ 40th anniversary. Winners will be announced just before closing each day.

In addition to providing expert knowledge at the dedicated Gemstones pavilion within the fair’s exhibition space, the GAA will be running a competition where about $2,000 in vouchers for GAA courses can be won.

The prizes – $1,000 course voucher, $500 course voucher and one voucher for an Introduction to Gems and Gemmology short course – will be redeemable from the GAA.

To enter the draw, visitors will need to visit the GAA stand and fill out a form. Winners will be announced at 2:30pm on Tuesday 3 September.

Pastiche will be presenting the New Zealand winners of its Mother’s Day visual merchandising competition with a “first place” plaque. The jewellery brand will also be announcing details about its next window display competition for Christmas. Visitors can learn more – there is a $6,000 travel voucher up for grabs – by visiting the Pastiche stand.

And finally, New Zealand Mint has a campaign where visitors simply add a hashtag to an Instagram post of any of the NZ Mint designer brands, and enter their details at the stand to go in the draw to win a NZ Mint jewellery prize drawn at the end of fair.

Many more companies have special offers and promotions running throughout the fair, hence attendees are encouraged to plan their trip in advance. Thankfully, this year the organisers have allowed an extra hour each day to help visitors make the most their opportunities.

The show will run from 9am-6pm on Sunday 1 September and Monday 2 September and 9am-4pm on Tuesday 3 September. Online visitor registration closes at midday this Friday 30 August.

FREE SEMINAR schedule

In a first for the Sydney fair, education seminars will be held right on the show floor.

The 20-minute free Spotlight Learning Exchange sessions will take place in hubs located throughout the exhibition space. There’s no need to register and visitors will be able to gain valuable tips and education from a host of industry experts.
