Having operated in Australia for almost two decades, India-based diamond dealer World Shiner has opened an office in Auckland, New Zealand.
“After catering to the Australian market, we thought that New Zealand would be a great place to open a branch,” World Shiner director Maulin Shah commented. He added that the business had been servicing diamond buyers in New Zealand from its Australian offices – located in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth – for several years.

The Auckland branch will stock white and coloured certified stones in various shapes, ranging in size from 0.05 to 10 carats.
“The new office will give New Zealand customers more product choice and allow them to purchase diamonds on a consignment basis,” Shah explained. “In addition, it means we can provide these customers with better service within a shorter timeframe.”
Devang Shah, who was previously a sales executive at the World Shiner Sydney office, has moved to New Zealand to head up the Auckland operation as director.
World Shiner also expanded its Australian presence earlier this year when it re-located its Melbourne operation to an office space almost double the size of the original.
