Bridal shoppers receive romantic treat

Jewellers are always in search of that USP – Unique Selling Proposition – to set them apart from competitors. TOM WILDERN reports, one jeweller has a novel offer for bridal shoppers.

Ritz Fine Jewellery, set in the sumptuous surroundings of The Ritz Hotel in central London, has a special treat in store for bridal shoppers.

The lavish boutique, located inside one of the most prestigious hotels in the world, invites couples who buy an engagement ring from its collection to dine in the renowned Ritz Restaurant as guests of Ritz Fine Jewellery.

“It is a special service which only Ritz Fine Jewellery can offer,” says Paul Carter, Managing Director.

Ritz prides itself on the rare and exquisite gemstones it offers in its decorous shop just off the main lobby of The Ritz Hotel on Piccadilly in the elegant Mayfair district.

The jeweller sources the finest colourless diamonds for its rings from the top four classifications D, E, F, and G, whilst the clarity is VS or better.

The upmarket retailer also offers a bespoke service to those customers who cannot find exactly the right ring from the jeweller’s collection.

The advantages of being housed inside The Ritz Hotel makes the experience of shopping for an engagement ring even more special, Carter said.

“The hotel is very busy all the time,” he said. “We welcome tea guests, lunch, dinner and Rivoli bar guests. We send a letter to every hotel guest arrival each day inviting them to visit Ritz Fine Jewellery and enjoy a glass of champagne, whilst they enjoy browsing our exclusive collection."

Display cases showing the jeweller’s exquisite pieces, including watches from Swiss designer M. Gerald Genta; jewellery from the versatile Icicles collection offering an array of gemstones (a signature collection with prices from £1,500), and from the diamond-encrusted Ribbon collection, stand strategically around the main thoroughfares of The Ritz Hotel and casino, The Ritz Club.

Ritz Fine Jewellery offers classic jewellery styles with a contemporary twist amongst its exclusively designed collection, Carter says.

The jeweller has a worldwide network of suppliers who source the rare and magnificent gemstones for its jewels, including Paraiba tourmalines, sapphires, and colourless and natural colour diamonds, including large yellow diamonds.

Engagement rings

“Ritz believes that its engagement rings are a core element of its business and a means of building up a relationship with a customer that will last for many years”, Carter said.

“My view is that if someone buys an engagement ring, and we provide them with excellence in customer service and advice they will use Ritz Fine Jewellery going forward, as their personal jeweller,” he said. “And they will keep coming back.”

Pointing to the lavish décor of the Ritz Restaurant, Carter said, "This of course is where we invite couples who buy engagement rings from Ritz Fine Jewellery to come and dine. It is a wonderful romantic treat, with our compliments.”
