John Russo, the former international sales director and global trainer of Hearts on Fire, will discuss how jewellery retailers can improve sales through body language and psychology.
The presentation is called ‘Secrets of Body Language’ and has been described as Russo’s “most popular” keynote address.
Nationwide managing director Colin Pocklington said he attended a presentation by Russo at the Independent Jewelers Organization trade show in the US in August.
“John’s presentation was really well received by the IJO [Independent Jewellers Organisation] members, and I knew he would be perfect for our conference theme – ‘Prospering in the New Normal’,” Pocklington explained.
“In my presentations at this year’s annual conference, and at the International Jewellery Fair, I identified the five challenges facing jewellers and other specialty retailers. Our 2018 conference will be focused on delivering the tools to address these challenges, and John Russo’s presentations will be a perfect fit.”
As previously reported by Jeweller, Pocklington researched current retail developments ahead of his seminars and noted dramatic changes were still expected to take place.
Russo conducts international conference presentations and has assisted more than 2,000 retailers in making their sales approaches more effective and competitive.
He has worked with independent luxury businesses across the US, Europe and Asia as well as consulted on body language and sales psychology for ‘high-street’ brands. Russo is also chief operating officer of art dealership Valmorbida Group.
The 2018 Nationwide conference will take place from Friday 9 February to Sunday 11 February in Canberra.
